About Kiwi Hit Disc - Overview

NZ On Air produces 11 monthly Kiwi Hit Discs. These are 16-track promotional CDs compiling the most current, broadcast-ready songs from New Zealand music groups or individual artists. Each disc is accompanied by a Fresh NZ Music featurette magazine, which spotlights four artists as well as including relevant New Zealand Airplay Radioscope Chart information. The Kiwi Hit Disc is mailed at the start of each month February through December to every radio station in New Zealand.

Objective

To provide all New Zealand radio stations with a continuing supply of airplay-ready New Zealand music.

Criteria

To be eligible for the Kiwi Hit Disc the group or individual must have:

A completed airplay-ready song.

A promotional plan to help market the song at radio.

Application

Complete the one-page application

Provide a CD copy of the mastered song, marking the disc clearly with the name of the song and the artist.

Send only one song per round.

If a video is completed, please include this with the application.
